New floor slab steelwork to each level of 18-storey building to facilitate glass façade. New roof steelwork to incorporate BMU support & walkways. New stair core support structure including 62-metre CHS support column.

To strengthen existing steelwork by plating and site welding in association with phased demolition to facilitate new load of additional 2no floors. Due to high carbon content in existing steel all site welds had to be preheated as bespoke welding procedure.

 

Scope – New internal steel frame for structural alteration design

Value – £700,000

 

Manually install 20-metre high columns through existing floor levels for new 2nd floor steelwork to support the load of the existing building structure above. After demolition, phased installation of new steelwork connected to previously installed columns to allow forming of new floor levels.

New structural support steelwork to form 2no new floor levels supported from existing building. Works included trimming for new risers, infilling existing and transfer beams after removal of concrete shear wall.

Approximately 150 tonnes of support steelwork to form new 5 floor flagship hotel in the City Centre. Structure included lift shaft, floor members to take concrete plank flooring with mansard roof and cold-rolled purlins.

Approximately 30 tonnes of structural steelwork to form a complete new roof structure. The package included site welded stiffeners to the facade and cutting new service holes in existing beams.

Series of fabricated plate girders and trimming steelworks to the 12th, 13th, 14th & 15th floors of existing building to accomodate a new feature staircase. Girders were 17m long but had to be spliced in 3m sections to allow to be lifted from ground floor to erection point in a goods lift!

Structural alterations package along Devonshire Row, encompassing 3 existing buildings. New slab steelwork to each level with 2 lift shafts and roof staircase. 2 new staircases spanning 5 & 6 floors respectively and a 90 tonne new frame

Project George is a logistically challenging structural alterations project for a new flagship retail store at the heart of Oxford Circus. 3 new 14m plate girder frames run from ground to second floors, with infill and lift shaft steelwork spanning between frames, forming 3 new floor levels.
